Toncoin → Gram: what changed, and how to spot a fake “migration”
On 15 June 2026 the native coin of The Open Network was renamed from Toncoin to Gram, ticker GRAM, after a TON Vote that passed with 81.22% (voting 1–8 June 2026). The announcement came from the Gram of TON channel (@toncoin) and Pavel Durov’s channel; ton.org and docs.ton.org now use the new name.
The blockchain is still TON. Balances, addresses, contracts and history did not change. There is no swap, no bridge, no claim and no migration: the same coin simply has a new name and logo.
Any site, bot or message asking you to “claim GRAM”, “migrate TON” or connect a wallet to “upgrade” is fraudulent.
Check an address — no wallet needed
What this covers
- Fact: the rename and its date are taken from the @toncoin channel and ton.org, checked on 8 September 2026.
- Interpretation: how the rename shows up in this explorer and wallet, which write the coin as GRAM.
- Not covered: the price, exchange listings, or whether the rename was a good idea.
Steps in Tongram
- Paste any TON address into the search box. The balance is shown in GRAM — the same units and the same on-chain value as before 15 June 2026.
- If someone sent you a “GRAM” token, open Tokens and look at the token contract under its name. The native coin has no contract; a jetton called Gram or GRAM is a different asset.
- If a page asks you to connect a wallet to “claim” or “migrate”, close it. Nothing in Tongram or on TON requires that.
What you see and where it comes from
- Balances, transactions and token lists come from Toncenter and tonapi; the ticker text comes from this app, which follows the network’s current naming.
- A jetton’s master contract address is shown next to its name so it can be told apart from the native coin and from other tokens with the same symbol.
- Exchanges relabelled TON to GRAM one-for-one on their own ledgers (for example Crypto.com, 17 June 2026); that is an internal relabel, not an on-chain action you take.
Freshness and limits
- Sources were checked on 8 September 2026. If the network or its documentation changes the naming again, this page will be out of date until it is re-checked.
- A separate proof-of-work jetton launched as “Gram (GRAM)” with master contract EQC47093…ORmG_O and renamed itself GRM in May 2026; some aggregators still show its old name. It is not the native coin.
- This site cannot tell you whether a specific unknown token is trustworthy; it can only show you which contract it comes from.
Common mistakes
- Following a “claim GRAM” or “migration deadline” link. The @toncoin channel stated there is no action for holders.
- Buying a jetton called GRAM believing it is the native coin. Check the contract, not the ticker.
- Sharing a seed phrase with “support” to “complete the migration”. Nobody legitimate asks for it.
